ANTI-SPAM AND UNSOLICITED MESSAGING POLICY
Date of Last Revision: October 24, 2026
Welcome to The Pattern!
Pattern Home, Inc. (“The Pattern,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to providing a safe, respectful space for Users to explore astrology, self-discovery, and their relationships. That commitment extends to how our Website located at thepattern.com (the “Website”), our mobile application (the “App”), and our related services (together, the “Services”) are promoted. This Anti-Spam and Unsolicited Messaging Policy (the “Policy”) explains our position on the use of unsolicited messages to advertise or promote the Services, and what you can do if you receive one.
This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
PLEASE READ THIS POLICY CAREFULLY.
1. Our Position
The Pattern does not send, authorize, or endorse unsolicited messages to advertise or promote the Services, the Website, or the App. This applies to any person or entity acting on our behalf or claiming to do so, including employees, contractors, affiliates, influencers, agencies, and other marketing partners (together, “Representatives”). We believe people should hear from us because they chose to, not because their inbox, phone, or social feed was targeted.
2. What We Mean by “Unsolicited Messages”
“Unsolicited Messages” means any email, SMS, MMS, text message, direct or private message, comment, push notification, in-app message, or other electronic communication that promotes The Pattern, the Website, the App, or any referral or affiliate link to the Services and that is sent to a recipient who has not given clear and informed consent to receive it. Examples include, but are not limited to:
-
bulk or repeated emails or text messages promoting The Pattern;
-
unrequested direct messages, replies, or comments on social media that promote the Website or App;
-
messages sent to contact lists, email addresses, or phone numbers that were purchased, rented, scraped, harvested, or otherwise collected without the owner’s consent;
-
messages sent through the Services to other Users that contain advertising, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” “contests,” “sweepstakes,” or any other form of solicitation; and
-
messages that falsely suggest they come from, or are endorsed by, The Pattern.
3. Prohibited Conduct
Consistent with Section 4 of our Terms of Service (User Conduct and Community Guidelines), you agree that you will not:
-
use Unsolicited Messages to advertise, promote, or drive traffic to the Services;
-
harvest or collect email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact information of other Users from the Services, by electronic or other means, for the purpose of sending Unsolicited Messages;
-
use data mining, robots, scraping, or similar data gathering or extraction methods in connection with the Services;
-
use the Services’ community features, including statuses, comments, Readings, and messaging, to advertise or offer goods or services that are not specifically authorized by The Pattern;
-
impersonate The Pattern or any other person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with The Pattern, in any message;
-
use misleading sender information, subject lines, or links in any message that promotes the Services;
-
solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18; or
-
create new accounts, or use multiple accounts, to evade enforcement of this Policy after being removed from the Services.
4. No Authorization to Promote Through Unsolicited Messages
Nothing in our Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, or any other agreement or communication with The Pattern grants you permission to promote the Services through Unsolicited Messages. The use of The Pattern’s name, trademarks, logos, or content in an Unsolicited Message is not authorized and does not imply our endorsement or involvement. Any use of The Pattern Trademarks requires our prior written permission, as described in our Terms of Service.
5. How We Communicate With Our Users
We reach out to Users and subscribers in ways they have chosen:
-
Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we’ll reach out about twice a month. You may unsubscribe at any time.
-
Push Notifications. We may request permission to send push notifications about your account or the App. If you wish to opt out, you may turn them off in your device settings.
-
Account and Service Messages. We may contact you by email or other electronic means about your account, your use of the Services, or changes to our policies.
-
Text Messages. As described in our Terms of Service, by using the App you agree that we may communicate with you by SMS, MMS, text message, or other electronic means. Please keep your mobile telephone number up to date in your account settings so that messages are not sent to someone who acquires your old number.
We do not sell or share our User account information, and we do not use contact information shared with the App (such as your phone contacts) for any purpose other than the features you choose to use, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Reporting an Unsolicited Message
If you receive a message that promotes The Pattern and you did not ask for it, please let us know. Forward it or send a screenshot to contact@thepattern.com with the subject line “Unsolicited Message Report,” and include, if you can:
-
the date and time you received the message;
-
the sender’s name, email address, phone number, or social media handle;
-
the full text of the message and any links it contains; and
-
the platform or method used to send it.
Our customer support team is available Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm EST. Reports submitted after hours will be answered as soon as possible. If a message was sent to you by another User through the Services, you can also report that User through the App. Please do not click links or respond to messages you believe are fraudulent, and use common sense and sound judgment when communicating with others online.
7. Enforcement
The Pattern has a zero-tolerance policy regarding inappropriate User Conduct. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that a User or Representative has violated this Policy, we may, with or without notice and without liability to you:
-
remove content or messages;
-
warn, suspend, or terminate the account and any associated access to the Services, without a refund of any subscription or in-app purchase;
-
end any affiliate, partner, or promotional relationship;
-
send cease-and-desist notices and pursue any other remedies available to us under law; and
-
refer suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
These rights are in addition to those described in the Termination section of our Terms of Service.
8. Responsibility and Indemnity
You are solely responsible for any message you send. If you send an Unsolicited Message that promotes the Services, you do so without our authorization, and as described in the Indemnity and Release section of our Terms of Service, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold The Pattern and its affiliates and their officers, employees, directors, and agents harmless from any losses, damages, expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), and claims arising out of or relating to that message or your violation of this Policy.
9. Applicable Law
Nothing in this Policy limits our obligations or your rights under applicable laws governing electronic communications. You agree to comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations when communicating about the Services.
10. Changes to This Policy
The Pattern reserves the right to update or modify this Policy at any time and from time to time, without prior notice. We will post any changes on the Website. Your continued use of the Services after any changes indicates your agreement to the updated Policy.
